ART TALKS

ART Talks 2026

September 2, 2026

We are delighted to announce our brand-new webinar series, ART Talks.

This series is designed to be a hub for meaningful dialogue, exploring subjects vital to the ART community: Laboratory Animal Welfare, Research Ethics, Culture of Care, the Three Rs, and Science Communication.

We are thrilled to announce our next speaker:

September 2nd, 4:00 PM CET: Ivana Jaric, University of Zurich, "Beyond the Checkbox: What Sex-Inclusive Research Really Requires".

The role of women in science is not only about representation. It is also about how science is done, which questions are asked, and who ultimately benefits from the answers.

The Sex as a Biological Variable (SABV) initiative called for sex-inclusive research, yet meaningful change remains limited, largely due to insufficient training and resources for researchers. In this talk, Dr. Jaric will introduce two key frameworks for sex-inclusive research, explaining how and why they differ and when each applies, as well as the main types of sex differences. She will present findings on why ovarian hormone status should be treated not as noise, but as an important factor, particularly in studies of female-specific vulnerability to psychiatric disorders. Finally, she will highlight why animal research remains essential for understanding sex differences, female health, and ultimately human medicine

The seminars are free of charge but registration is compulsory. Please scroll down and fill in the form at the end of this page.
